Seattle – Safeco Field – Ballpark # 1

The day had finally come. Tax Season was over, all my employee evals were done, it was time to pick Chuck up at Sea-Tac airport and start enjoying some baseball!  Last night after finishing up my last eval meeting, I met a friend for a couple beers, then packed up everything and headed back […]

Cubs vs Mariners – June 24, 2010

Today was what I have been looking to as the official kick off to my Summer of Baseball 2010!  It couldn’t have been a better day today!  The sun was shining and it was freakin’ hot… I LOVED IT! I started my day off by picking up Doug in Tacoma and we headed towards The […]

Red Sox vs Mariners – May 17, 2009

Having stayed the night in Bellevue, we got up early and decided to try and see if we could find the hotel where the Red Sox were staying and see if we could catch a glimpse of them as they got on their bus heading for Safeco and get some good pictures. As it turned […]

Red Sox vs Mariners – May 16, 2009

Back in March when Mariners tickets went on sale, my wife and I decided to take a weekend and stay up in the Seattle area and catch both the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games. This weekend was naturally the weekend we chose because the Boston Red Sox were in town. I was also lucky […]

Red Sox vs Mariners – May 15, 2009

I already had tickets for the Saturday & Sunday game this weekend, but when I realized that the guys from “30 Ballparks in 30 Days” would be in town, I got to talking with Craig and decided to meet them all at the Pyramid Ale House before the game tonight.  I got there early, way […]

Tigers vs Mariners – April 18, 2009

Tonight’s game started out as a great pitchers duel for the first 5+ innings. Both Eric Bedard and Edwin Jackson were throwing great games. Bedard did have a pretty high pitch count though. In the 6th inning Ordonez led off with a single and advanced to 2nd on Lairds single. Brandon Inge singled to right where Ichiro fielded the ball cleanly and fired it to home like a laser, but unlike what we are used to seeing, the run being gunned down so easily, what we saw was the ball sailing and going out of play, thus allowing 2 runs to score. E-9! I don’t think I can recall another game where I have said, “We lost on an Ichiro throwing error!”

Mariners vs Padres – May 19, 2007

I left home a little later than I wanted to, but as I crested “the hill” and could see that the roof at Safeco Field was open, all was good.  I took my usual exit, went up 4th to Edgar Martinez Drive and as I got to 1st, which is the corner where the home […]

Mariners vs Padres – May 18, 2007

So Interleague play has begun… and the first series of such for the Mariners brings their “Rivals” the San Diego Padres to Safeco for a 3 game set this weekend.  I don’t get how they can be our “Rivals” because there isnt any bad blood between the two teams or anything and the only real […]
